We stumble down the railroad tracks,
short step short step long step
short step short step long step
The wind at our backs
Water trickles in falling streams
old concrete rusts
discarded bits of metal
three hawks circle
returning home
short step short step long step
short step short step long step
spikes and bolts strewn about
whipping hair
cold ears
crispy creeks
warm heart.
